The current junta controlling the United States could care less about speech.
I understand that interpreters from Afghanistan are now losing their tongues. This won't bother the Resident. He doesn't worry about people speaking freely.
I lost half of my tongue, and had to relearn talking. I still have quite a lisp. Losing the rest of my tongue is a nightmare of mine.
Not a one of those souls needed to lose their tongue.
I have heard that there is an operation to replace tongue with a portion of calve. I hope they will be able to get that operation.
I am so sorry they will never taste again, but perhaps they could speak again.

I wonder what has become of the old USO Pat Tillman Center (https://www.dvidshub.net/video/53635/pat-tillman-uso) as well, that was the strangest thing to see in the middle of District 9*: a vaguely Germanic Alpenhut-type building right where you get off the plane that brought you there.
Ah, good thymes. Nah, I am lying. Bagram sucked, I am so glad I wasn't stationed there and was only passing through to other destinations. Always felt bad for the guys in our unit that got stuck there.
