Free TV streaming/Jailbreaking streaming boxes

I recently started messing with my smart TV apps and downloaded a free streaming app called Stirr. One of the channels they have (Comet) streams X Files almost all day long so i been binge watching it. The X Files is way goofier than i thought it would be but it's entertaining for an American show.

But there are some apps that i can not download on my Samsung TV. I would like to have Crunchyroll and NHK and some others which lead me to jailbreaking a firestick or another Android streaming box. I have heard that the firestick has a bunch of adds and that a you are better off with a off brand Android box.

And some free streaming services like funimation have commercials that can be skipped with ad-blockers. And with a jailbroken streaming box you can download adblockers.

Who here has experience and what box is best to go with? You can get a firestick for $20 but if it's full of adds that a blocker cant block then i would rather get a android box like the Android TV Box 11.

I had a jail-broken firestick years ago, and the damn thing only worked for a little while.

It required constant updates, and ISP’s started monitoring for individuals logging into the pirated streaming services. They even started blocking access to the streams, and the FCC was putting notices on people’s front doors.

I’d say go old school and enjoy what you own.

Well I'm not interested in stealing TV channels i dont pay for. I am interested in using certain apps that are not available on Samsung and getting ads off some of them that are capable of being blocked. I know that ads can be blocked on funimation and crunchyroll.

I think all jailbreaking requires is downloading an app called "downloader" and installing it. After it is installed it allows you to download any app you want, like add blockers. But i think any streaming box will allow you to download apps that are not supported by some TV manufacturers like Samsung.
