If I could get this interface, my i/o problems would be over.

Then I could get two of these sweethearts.

I'd finally have the best of both worlds, API & Neve. The perfect balance of muscle and grace. :D

I will when I hit the lotto. It would cost upwards of about 14k, and that doesn't even include the breakout cables. I should have been a bowler. :(

Yikes! Well, at least the good thing about today is that there are all kinds of affordable options for digital IO. Just don’t skimp on the AD/DA convertors. Mucho importado!

While I agree, there are definitely some shit-sounding converters on the market. The snake oil is just run a fucking muck! I like Apogee for the quality and seamless compatibility with a Linux operating system.  ;D

Apogee was the industry standard when I was in the game, so to speak.

It's amazing how fast the industry evolves. I took a 3 1/2-year hiatus for work-related reasons and had to ask for help rebuilding my studio upon my return. I still don't understand all the gear the way I'd like to, but it's never that hard figuring it out.

HA! That's when I was transitioning from the Digi 003 workstation to the Apogee Ensemble Thunderbolt. I was still kind of a newbie and probably still am. I'm still running Protools as my DAW because I refuse to learn a new one. HAHAHA

It's nice knowing there's a fellow gear slut roaming around this forum, MT!

Again, PT is another one of those industry standards that you find in almost every pro studio, like a set of Yamaha NS-10s. Toward the end of my illustrious career I had taken to tracking things in Garageband because of it’s flexiblity and intuitive ease of use and then mixing in PT because of it’s more adavance features in that regard.

Aw man, why did you quit? I hope I never have to let go of it. If I disconnect from the creative process for too long, I get depressed.  :(

It’s a tough slog in that industry. So many different factors need to line up just so. Most don’t make it. I had my shot but I just couldn’t make a real go of it financially. I hear ya though! I wish I had more time to indulge my creativity that way. Do keep at it! I was impressed, anyway.

Oh, you were actually in the industry!? Lolz  ;D Man, I do this shit on the side for fun, and here in Houston, all we have is rap. Yeah, if you don't live in Austin, LA, Nashville, or Tokyo, you're screwed for the most part. Even then, it's a hard industry to survive in.

I haven't done anything creative in 2 1/2 years, and it's really bothering me. Thanks for the kind words, brother Yoda!

That’s Trollda. Yoda is my cousin. ;)

P.S. I was in in a very minor league way but I was a junior engineer on some label recordings. Hell, even Lee produced for the band Saga and that’s muy impressive to me. There was also another Bellgabber named Sean who was obviously an industry dude but he’s a (sigh) Ellgabber now. ::) ;)

Oops, Mr. Trollda, that is. Sorry to hear about your loss to Ellgab. :-\
