A social democrat is someone who believes that everyone deserves an equal chance in life, whatever their economic status. That means investing in health, education etc but doesn't involve large-scale top-down control of the economy. Actual communists don't like them because they think they are trying to preserve a failed system rather than trying to build a better one.

And how do you propose to provide this equal chance in life (pretty vague concept really) without a top down control of the economy? Public education is now involved in propgandizing to stidents rather than teaching them and you want to give them more money to do that?! This is the problem with socialist. They just really don’t care about people or the common man. It’s all sacrificed on the altar of their ideology.

Easy. Ban private schools so that the children of wealthy parents are educated in the same classrooms as poor ones. That will soon raise standards for everyone. For the same reason, healthcare should be free at point of need rather than a luxury for the wealthy.
