AAAAHHH SO CUTE ❤️ you look like a prime hunk of beef to me!  Absolutely massive 👅, if I wore a helmet like that I would look like a Q-tip.  Happy Canada Day, belatedly; I'm sorry I forgot all about it.

Well, thank-you Mr. Dubb. Most riders are not fat- but most do not weigh as much as I do. I require a sturdy, capable wheel to pull me up the hills...

Happy (drunken?) fourth.  ;)

The delta variant is now officially old news, it's the lambda variant that is going to kill us all.

Some Peruvian dude succumbing to the Λ variant, on the streets of Cusco.

This is NOT looking good, as C3P0 might say;  "We're doomed!"

There is a good case for social distancing here and the poor bugger refused to wear the recommended hazmat suit.

I found this:

Silver lining? For unknown reasons, global data shows allergy sufferers more protected against Covid-19, Russian scientist says

...the researcher said that "we are now one and a half years into the pandemic and there has been evidence from the very start that patients with allergies are less likely to become infected with coronavirus..."

"They" (the hobo elite) aren't sure why this is so.  Clearly it is the diphenhydramine;  as that is probably the most common antihistamine out there.  The hobo elite should do a cross-study to determine if both insomniacs and people that suffer from motion sickness are also mysteriously immune.

What can a poor SJW do with a valid position like this?

Ad hominem? Perhaps find a good debunking to spank it down.

Much as I appreciate the education about PCR, and agree with much of what you say, I think you would help your case if you were a little less snarky and sneering about other peoples genuinely held opinions, even if they might be wrong. That kind of attitude just comes over as the slightly insecure geeky kid at school who got bullied a lot and could only get his own back by being cleverer than everybody else and rubbing their face in it. Very irritating.
The man clearly has concerns about how ‘science’ is being used to influence, inappropriately in his opinion, public policy, and how that might relate to a much wider agenda. Give the man respect, show him factually when he is wrong, and engage in debate. Stop all the posturing.

Oh brother.  Thankfully covid isn't serious enough to be anything more than a political football here.  They aren't even requiring vaccination for nursing-home staff who have probably slaughtered thousands of vegetables by their obduracy.  Nobody is going to hold you down.

Here, in the greatest country in the world, the worst you have to deal with is a mouthy faggot on the internet.  Happy Fourth, retards!

K_Dubb, Attend:

Thank you for bringing this up, as part of our 2024 Campaign I would like to focus on, among many other things:  The fact that vegetables have feelings too, and the mindless slaughter of them to feed our National Obese Hunger Holes* is not only stubborn, but unfeeling and cruel.

Here, I found a study that will scientifically back up this Campaign Position:

A Group of Scientists Suggest that Plants Feel Pain
...some plants can emit a high-frequency distress sound when in environmental stress...

Maybe we can get Donald Sutherland on-board (if the old vegetable isn't dead from CornHoleEbola-19.5) when the Campaign inevitably reaches that feverish pitch-point?

I think the kids would dig it and we could capture a significantly high percentage of the multi-vote.

I am not really all that great with coming up with the actual names for our various Campaign Planks, so perhaps we could focus-group this one if you can't find something snappier than "Stop The Stubborn Slaughter Of Vegetables For Your Fat Hunger Hole, Okay Boomer?"  Perhaps translate it into French or something (see asterisk below)?

Hear, Musaks:

pate/K_Dubb 2024
"WHO shat in the interregnum?"

*in this case I would like the term "Hunger Hole" to refer to the Mouth, and not one of the other myriad anatomical holes that it could possibly refer to.  Perhaps if we translated it into French, it would sound better?  Hmm, Nationale Gros Bouches Faimaient or somesuch?  The French doesn't have to conform to Acadamie Francais standards, we can always claim that it is an old Cajun/Accadian thing, maybe come up with a catchy Zydeco accordion theme song for it.  The important thing is to have a cool Acronym that can be pronounced with a goofy fake french accent, and get across the message that Vegetables Have Feelings Too, Stop Stuffing Them In Your Fat Hunger Hole.

Aw, lawdy.

That is awesome...  This disease takes on new levels of high-larry-tea when you add in the French Connection.  The double meanings get intense, yo!

Well here is where we will probably agree, though in a purely theoretical world.  I think if the government determines it is in the public interest that a business cease its otherwise-lawful operations for some time, it should be obliged to compensate it accordingly, at some meaningful rate just like it does with property taken under eminent domain.

This was sort of done.  A lot of the compensation was done here through the unemployment system which I think was a mistake since that is insurance your employer carries on your behalf, it should have been a different bucket.  There were small-business funds set up, too, but I know a lot of little operations have closed, Seattle is beginning a fresh effort to populate its empty storefronts and hopefully most will come back.  I don't know how barbers got by but I assume there was something since we didn't have thousands of salon workers picketing the state capitol, there were only a handful.

Contrast that with some of the massive protests you saw in Europe where they take their right to work a little more seriously and got very rowdy.  It's political conservatives, though, who have resisted paying people, since to them it is akin to socialism and welfare.  That was absolutely the wrong move.  They should have insisted on something close to full reimbursement.  The lockdowns would have been a lot shorter if governors had to pay out daily compensation for their upkeep.

I've been astonished since the beginning why local Chambers of Commerce were not fighting for the rights of their businesses to operate; you have to assume they agreed at some level that the closures were necessary and sort of acquiesced.  Sure they grumbled but, aside from California, no governor seems to be facing a serious recall effort for abusing his power, and I am sure California's will fail, too.  If there are no electoral consequences, which are the one chance for the little guy who outnumbers the big guys by hundreds to one to flex his political muscle, you just have to assume the will of the people was done.

Republicans should have been in the forefront demanding just compensation but instead since our politics are so utterly stupid these days they're more preoccupied with transgender athletes.  I'm forced to conclude all that coercion was not really that big a deal to most people.

Yes. There should have been more compensation. I suppose the argument is that you should not be taking people's livelihood away. Not that you should take it away and then compensate them. I work with one fellow who was very pro lock down. Until his daughter ended up in the psych ward several times with suicidal problems. Suddenly, it was more important that she see friends than follow the public health rules. (I will be clear that I 100% agree.)

When one of the first questions on meeting people is "what do you do?" there is a lot tied up in an occupation. I'm a bit of a loner- but psychologists have said for years how important community is. And then we are told not to see anybody. We are told that visiting old people is imperative for their mental health- and then we lock them up like prisoners in their cells rooms.

Some things can be (and should have been compensated.) But for some things, there is no compensation. I was just reading that teen suicides are up 38% year over year. How do you compensate those parents and families? I will never say that what we did was worth it- not by any reasonable measure.

Happy pride day week month quarter season. Wow, the Canadian government is really expanding things. Maybe next it can be "pride year" or "pride decade." I mean, why stop at a season? I really wish this were a joke- but our feminist PM seems to be serious about telling people when it is OK to be proud, and when they should hide their (black)face in shame.
