We are back to a statewide mask order and now vaxx mandates for all state employees including teachers which should be fun.  We are being invited to blame the filthy unvaxxed coofers, an easy case to make if you look at the per-capita covid map now where all the red counties are turning red compared to Seattle even with Seattle’s density and larger unvaxxed minority population, and hospitals are full of mostly unvaxxed.  But I think the few thousand breakthroughs are the real driving factor since, to the governor’s mostly urban base, the unvaxxed are now a (minuscule) threat again 🤷🏼‍♂️ The Trumpy counties will just ignore it like they always have but the vaxx mandate will hit their higher proportions of govt workers where it hurts 💥 it’s a stealth purge of all nonconformists

Touted as THE strictest vaxx mandate in the nation, no personal exemptions, no option for routine testing, it will be wildly popular here.

Awwwww ❤️ I felt so bad, figured since you knew I could just happily swing away.  I have a great sort of quasi-sermon about how worrying about fetuses makes you the most wicked man in the world but I will save it for when you are feeling better.

Since you forced my hand I can speak clear: yes, you are right, the main point of the vaccine nonsense at this point is to divide people and persecute them.  You can tell it is nonsense because we are in a much-better position than we were last year (thanks to the vaxx, which has largely been adopted by vulnerable people regardless of politics but you'd never know it) but the temperature of the rhetoric has not lowered in the least.  It is not possible to be a filthy unvaxxed trumpkin in Seattle; you will get spit upon.  My best friend and his boyfriend (who is a total Qtard) sold their townhouse last year and moved to a big country lot where they ride ATVs and store things.

There have been some interesting stories that lay out how much of what we fight about has its origins in foreign intelligence services who are far more adept at propaganda and playing up hysteria than we are, but the truth is, we don't need any help.  Give us an ideological fight with cleanliness rituals and neat little props like masks so every trip outside is a political statement and we eat that shit up.  It's fun to hate the neighbors.

Me, I am not an ideologue and view it all practically.  I have to take care of my folks and would do what I did whether the government told me to or not, the way most people would if left alone.  I'm perteckting mah fambly you know 💪🏻 But I don’t expect anyone else to care.

Lefties are great for feeling empathy for nameless numbers on a chart but hating the people they're talking to.  Righties are great for standing on principle, which needs no backup, but, when you see what they talk about amongst themselves, it's utter batshittery, which makes it easy to persecute them 🤷‍♂️ I just laugh, there''s no help for it.  You are in for a rough ride up there with so many vaxxed; you don't have the numbers to protect you.

Don't tell MD- but I'm glad that you did not actually lose your ever loving mind and actually buy into the BS. I think I'm feeling a little better- a little more at peace. I realize that the majority of senior management at my company displays what others term as "toxic masculinity" and I would deem to be individuality and determination. I know several of them (in the US) are close to Q anon people. I'm sure if they have any say, there will not be a problem for me. But it is the Canadian head office who is more likely to think it will help in relationships with the clients.

Either way, I am slowly feeling better about moving out of the city. I am finally stopping to take stock of some of my life decisions like the other 10 million Canadians did when they just stopped working and sat on CERB while I continued to make sure that things ran and put in overtime. Like some of them, I'm starting to think I may have made a few mistakes. I don't want to be forced out of society (and I consider it to be very dangerous for a freedom that is already fragile) but it may not even take that for me to do what I wanted (or at least buy the land as "plan B" and to become a part time "gentleman farmer." )

As for the rant about evil due to worrying about fetuses- I think I am ready. It should be good.*

I'm finally going to say it. Assassination may seem like a reasonable response at this point. I'm sure there is a white supremacist somewhere who could convince themselves that removing freedom is treason. And I think I still recall the punishment for such an act... I may not care to be involved- but I don't think I would shed a tear.

I'm often reminded of the idea that there is nothing so dangerous as a man with nothing left to lose. Take away his government job, his pension, his house and try to take away his friends and you may have somebody on your hands who is truly dangerous. I look at history and see a number of examples- so I wonder it that is part of the strategy? Get a few people to act out so that you can give the NSA a little more power- give the newly formed 2 billion dollar country wide "capital police" who have no oversight and are not responsible to "we the people" something to look into...
