This is a perfect example of why, despite all their preening and showing-away, the English will always be seen as gauche and ill-mannered and lacking the last degree of refinement.  One of us is subtle and playful and deliberately opaque — you will notice everyone else either missed it completely or had the sense to silently pass over my little jest with a knowing smile lest the quarry be started — while the other jumps up and down hooting like the retarded kid who hears the ice-cream truck.
