To help speed the vaccination process along, the Commerce Department will "fund gift cards to local businesses for residents who are recently vaccinated," and wineries and breweries will be able to "buy a glass or pint" for vaccinated customers once the Liquor & Cannabis Board grants approval. Inslee said he "would not rule out" similar weed incentives, such as "joints for jabs," an idea suggested by King 5 reporter Chris Daniels.

 

Inslee said Washington will also immediately implement the Centers for Disease Control's new mask guidance, which allows fully vaccinated people to go maskless outdoors and in most places indoors, excepting schools, hospitals, and public transit. Those who are fully vaccinated, for instance, can walk into grocery stores without wearing a mask. Business owners retain the right to maintain mask requirements, and they can require customers to show proof of immunization, though. Valid vax proofs include vaccination cards, or digital versions of those cards, which you can find at myir.net.

If it has mutated sufficiently by next year I'll get another shot, just like the flu shot I used to get every year working for the hospital.  That way, when they finally sneak the kill shot in like Tootsie says, I'll never see it coming.

Or not; might end up being like the flu where you can safely skip if you're healthy.  I will wait and see, not a big deal.

Of course!  Nobody forced me to get this one.  I just hope they come up with some better amenities for the observation period in the waiting room after, where they keep an eye on you to make sure you don't keel over and croak.  Didn't even get a nice cold V8 like they used to give out at the hospital!

I still say the only way they will get the kind of coverage they are looking for is to make it so the vaxxed can ditch their masks.

I think it important that the vaxxed be able to ditch them as well. And the unwashed, dangerous, dirty, and likely infected unvaxxed should be forced to wear a mask with a giant yellow star sewn to their clothing to identify them as being worthy of being assaulted righteous physical reprimands.

The biggest problem with being around this group since the start of covid is that I know who and what you are talking about. No sane person should understand a statement such as that without some additional input.

I have a friend who is vaccinated and still very concerned tell me today that some scientists are back on the "Covid is aerosolized" kick again and recommending that office worker wear HEPA masks while at their own desks.*

*He gives me this news hoping to get a rise out of me where I tell him that these scientists can shove their N95 masks. Instead I pointed out that if, after a year and a half and millions of infections they were not able to figure it out, their science is worthless...
