I have known a few people who were deadly sick. One of my employees called an ambulance that night he felt so bad. The medic checked him out and listened to his symptoms before declaring "that is how you can tell it is working."

Most people up here have been lead to believe that the worse your reactions, the better the protection and the better your immune system has been activated. Maybe it is true? I confess that I don't know...

It is hard to tell from the articles because most that are written to explain the vaccine take pains to explain that a one-size-fits-all shot "works" because triggering the immune system is not dependent on dosage, but the fact that they are trying to develop ones for children "to minimize side effects" suggests to me that it may have been initially designed to jumpstart the senescent bedridden and that we healthy folks might be getting more poop than is strictly necessary.

Maybe that is a big part of it. I grew up in the punk scene. Anarchy and outright hatred of everything that "straight" society stood for was not uncommon. I confess that I'm not positive if I feel any sense of "civic duty" at all. Like I said, I didn't now out when it was tearing through my workplace. That was more a sense of decency than anything related to "civic duty."

I don't like abortion either but it seems to me this is a case of sifting through the remains of innocent humans otherwise discarded like garbage and making something useful.  The moral question is far from settled.  I wonder how many people owe their lives to that poor creature from 1972 or whenever.  If it skeeves you out to profit thereby, reflect that we Christians stake our eternal souls on the cruel sacrifice of a perfect Innocent a couple thousand years ago.

I tend to agree with the article's conclusion that here, while the technical challenges are surmountable, the cultural ones are not.  We do not like showing our papers, whether to shop or to vote.  Making people show proof to take their masks off is never going to work, it is unenforceable as a lot of big stores signaled immediately.

Biden's Mean Tweet speaking of "the rule" is just that:  not a law, a moral guide from the bully pulpit.  I love how people freaked out about it.  If it has you diving for loopholes and how to fake shit and beat the system, you're going to get the side-eye, and with some justification.

For God Sakes go to the beach [I won't club you with that Scripps Institute lady]. However, in those sweater, gyration videos you post it looks like you are in a Men's Room.  Stay the hell out of there if at all possible.  There usually aren't lids on those commercial bowls and the fecal plumes jet out and hang around in the air forever because the ventilation in those places usually is terrible.
