*Besides, I thought only a few posts back, you were telling me that you didn't mind the masks at all. Why so upset now?

Hah I am goofing, thought you guys would get a kick out of it.  I agree with all your points, this is now crazy town.  I don't really care, I'm not eligible to go maskless for another 2.5 weeks anyway  :(

My favorite local rabble-rousing weatherman takes on the coof, thinks he's identified a simple formula for a 70% herd-immunity threshold made up of vaxx rates plus three times the reported cases (who have natural antibodies).

Quote
Washington State COVID is collapsing.  And it makes perfect sense.

If you read my earlier blog, the analysis started by trying to get a measure of the percentage of residents (of each state) that possessed antibodies to COVID,  This was done by adding the percentage vaccinated to the percent that was immune because of contracting COVID.

You simply can't look at vaccinations alone, as some have done.  And to estimate the percentage with COVID immunity, I multiplied the number of reported cases by three, since there are many cases that are not reported or are asymptomatic.   There is strong support in the scientific literature for this multiplier, with several papers/reports based on serology data.

Then I compared this measure of the population's antibody rate to the change of COVID for the previous two weeks (last half of April) for all 50 states.

I was stunned with the result.  Once my measure of COVID immunity got to roughly 70%, the number of cases collapsed.   A transition to herd immunity was occurring.

You took away all of my fun... I was going to comb through your posts in the hopes of spotting the elusive "I don't even notice my mask anymore" statement. Now what am I going to do with my free time?  :'(

Had to go into the office today to clean out all my stuff.  They are making everyone do it on a staggered schedule. The white shoe boys are up to something but no one knows what exactly.  Right before the crud happened they ripped out our cubicles that were naturally socially distanced and put in that open landscape shit where you pack as many dudes as possible at a table like below:

It was basically a vat for virus and bacteria. One theory is that they are gonna rearrange that shit in a socially distant manner and make  people come in for two days a week. The other leading theory is that they are just gonna bag it and try and sell all that stuff and just leave us at home forever more. Productivity has been way, way up this past year as guys seem to be working during the time they would have been commuting and sick days are way down [like 85%] as you don't have a pack of dudes at a table coughing and gacking on each other.

I'd imagine the local governments are putting the heat on companies to get folks back as it is a revenue hit - less commuting is less gas tax revenue, less sales tax on shit like tires and auto wear and tear plus less sales tax from lunch joints.

About 5 years back I attended a building manager's convention (believe me, I was a little surprised there was such a thing as well.) One of the seminars was about how the open office concept and unassigned work spaces were going to revolutionize the workplace. After all, everybody just loves not having their own desk and sharing a chair with the rest of the world.

I assume your "white shoe boys" may have attended the same mind numbing seminar. Only they were unable to resist embracing the "workplace of tomorrow."

For perspective, the people telling us we must still wear masks are the same ones who advised having sex through a shower curtain.  Most of the general public seems to have forgotten but it has remained a standing joke here among certain communities.

Shower curtains? I recall the BC center for disease control recommending employing "glory holes." But shower curtains? That one is new (and funny.)

The fact that you need to continue wearing masks seems very much related to the political leanings of the public officials you elected.  :P

I have a question for you. Why is it that for the last year I was not allowed to question Dr. Fauchi, not allowed to question the guidance of the CDC, not allowed to disagree with the public health officials? But now, suddenly, it is all the rage to disagree with the science- it is fine to say that the CDC is "mistaken" in their easing mask mandates? It is fashionable to ignore what Saint Fauchi decrees? And you can do so without being cancelled...

Why is it that suddenly your elected officials are willing to ignore the science and rely on their intuition? I find it absolutely hilarious what people are willing to back. "Damn it, I demand that we remain locked in our houses and masked and socially distanced! Anything less would be barbaric (regardless of what the CDC tells me...)"

*Besides, I thought only a few posts back, you were telling me that you didn't mind the masks at all. Why so upset now?

He likes to play both sides of the fence, depending on the prevailing sentiments and hope that no one notices but we do. We really do. It would be more fun if he stuck to his guns but he’s a slimey sychophant who has no thoughs of his own other than the prevailing group think.

Shower Curtains - the kinder, gentler Glory Hole.

Interesting paper here: Circulating SARS-CoV-2 Vaccine Antigen Detected in the Plasma of mRNA-1273 Vaccine Recipients

The vaccine induced spike proteins do in fact get into the bloodstream and just more evidence that this roll out is way too rushed. There is so much that isn't understood yet. According to the paper, it is the first time this has been noted in any study. Hopefully not an issue long term and probably fine but what if it isn't?

Quote
Nonetheless, evidence of systemic detection of spike and S1 protein
production from the mRNA-1273 vaccine is significant and has not yet been described in any
vaccine study, likely due to limitations in assay sensitivity and timing assessment. The
clinical relevance of this finding is unknown and should be further explored.
