Scotland, PAA modernized retelling of "MacBeth" set in 1970s suburban Pennsylvania. Joe McBeth, an unambitious hamburger stand employee, is driven to success by his scheming wife.
Watched this one last night, very amusing. Other than a Tall-Boy Can of PBR I spotted in one scene (did they have those in the '70s?) there were no glaring modern anachronisms present, maybe the "Free French Fries" FoodTruck near the end (although I think those did exist back in the day, just not so ubiquitous. Nautical Shore). The Soundtrack was awesome, and was well integrated into the movie.
A great many familiar actor's faces in this one. Christopher Walken plays a vegetarian detective investigating a murder at the Hamburger Joint, which was an amusing sub-plot device, but the extent of my expected Walken Weirdness. He did a great job, I was just hoping for "More Cow Bell" in the weirdness of Walken. I forgive him, the movie did not put me to sleep which is a yuuuge thing in my book.
A bit long though, a fact I did not notice until the 90-minute mark (that seems to be the "sweet spot" for most movie lengths) when I glanced at the clock for some reason. Probably during one of the very few "boring" parts that was a few seconds long at most.
Yahtze, abandoned Carnival grounds with creepy Andy Dick & Co drug-hobos that use a Magic-8 Ball to divine future events, beer drinking, Led Zeppelin posters, greasy-spoon Hamburger Joint... the list of kitschy stuff was extensive and that a mere sampling.
I will have to give it
