You still among the living, Pate? Do you need me to send you some Ivermectin?
Yep, still alive. I guess this is Day #4 after exposure to whatever it was. My only symptoms of note are the normal mild disinclination to activity as the Winter Solstice approaches and passes. I believe my natural state during this time of year is hibernation of some sort, I believe it has something to do with the absence of need for Basic Lawn Maintenance during the winter months.
Is there an established time-line that science has settled upon for the typical incubation period of a
CHE-19.5 exposure to active infection? The question remains whether or not my neighbor's case was anything other than the common cold/flu (which I suspect is all the
CornHoleEbola-19.5 is in the first place)...
Reports are that some sort of "bad cold/flu" is or was sweeping the KC metropolitan area this past week or so but I have seen no indication (nor have I looked into the possibility) that this local epidemic was at all related to the
Morinic-variant of the dreaded fad virus. I will do so now:
https://www.flustar.com/forecast/current/cold/64101^^^ Neat interactive map there, as of this writing it shows a small outbreak of "
Cold & Flu" in Eastern Kansas (
*spit*)...
https://www.kansascity.com/news/coronavirus/article256388207.html^^^^
...As of Tuesday, the rolling average of new COVID-19 cases across the metro area is around 732 per day over seven days, according to data tracked by the Star. That’s higher than last week’s average of 443, and higher than any 7-day average in the past 5 weeks. Nineteen people have died from COVID-19 in Kansas City in the past week, bringing the total up to 3,257 since the pandemic began...
So apparently as of yesterday (07DEC2021) there is some sort of spike in the 7-day rolling average. What disappoints me about that tidbit is the 3,257 number of deaths since the beginning of this some two years ago: I am certain there were far more than a mere 3.25k Stupid People in the Kansas City metro, and this disease is doing a decidedly lack-luster job of wiping said folk from the face of the planet.
I would be interested to see what the "Death from All Causes" statistic is for the the Kansas City population over the same period
and for the five or so years preceding 2019 as well. I suspect that the numbers will statistically be the same across all years falling well within the "Standard Deviation" with no 2020 and 2021 spikes in "All Cause Death Rate" that at all approach even a single order of magnitude.
I will note that since the Kansas City mayor has fallen afoul of spending of State Funds by localities statutes (he apparently diverted some State of Missouri fundage from the KCPD to some other city department) and is in danger of being removed from office that the local (
gay) "
Man-Date" proclamations have either eased or completely gone away...
If I manage to exhibit symptoms of
ANY sort in the next few days (which I doubt will happen), I will dutifully go and get myself another nose swab and find out if it is the
CornHoleEbola-19.5-{
moRoNicA variant} or something else.
Otherwise, I will have another IGG(?) T-cell blood test at my next scheduled visit to the VA to see how my Natural Immunity is holding up.
In short, WOTR: A Nothing Burger so far.

I believe it is far more likely that K_Dubb magically *
resurrects* & begins posting hear again than I am to succumb to the dreaded scourge of the world.
