Well, I hope you'll be alright. It seems like a terrible way to go. Some people who had a mild case still suffer from long-covid symptoms and from what I gather it stems from an enzyme produced to fight bacterial infections. According to this article: https://news.arizona.edu/story/venom-coursing-through-body-researchers-identify-mechanism-driving-covid-19-mortality the enzyme is similar to rattlesnake venom and "it has the capacity to "shred" the membranes of vital organs". So I think that may be the reason formerly healthy and fit people have a reduced quality of life due to damaged organs presenting as brain fog, getting winded easily and other annoying problems.

Maybe you'll be fine. I think a better plan would be to try to avoid contracting the virus until they can come up with a treatment for it.

Also, if you have a goatee, shave it off, that seems to be a comorbidity from what I've seen from the Herman Cain Award winners.

I appreciate the advice. No goatee for me. At worst, I have had several days of stubble.

Avoiding it would be great- but I can't see how I can continue to evade it given my very low level of covid fear and my very poor mask etiquette and general attention. I'm sick of the bullshit that I'm "killing others and risking their lives." The non-stop 24 hour news cycle has beat it into me what a horrible person I am. So fuck it. I'm done. They win. I'll get my shot of Covid.

I've now talked with my mother (who, not surprisingly is quite concerned.) I have also texted my cousin and asked him to call me when he has a moment... I suppose I should go and grab a couple of beers to take over.

Good luck man.  Paladin over on the other site just posted today that he got the Delta variant - sounds like it kicked the shit out of him.

It should be good. Maybe I will post my daily experience here like Dubb did after getting the vax. Then he can point to the two experiences and contrast them in a morally/intellectually superior way and tell everybody to get the vax with it's minor side effects. I'll admit that I'm a little anxious and wish he would text me or call me back. I want to get it over with now.

Sounds like a job for Moosehead. That should break down any immunity you have before starting the card game.

Good luck!  This is anecdotal, I take:  Ibuprofen 400mg/day, diphenhydramine (Benadryl) 50mg/day, Vitamin C 1000mg/day and a generic multi-vitamin ???mg/day.  Also, Tobacco:

Drugs that mimic effects of cigarette smoke reduce SARS-CoV-2's ability to enter cells

Researchers have identified a potential reason why lower numbers of COVID cases have appeared amongst smokers compared to non-smokers...

Also blood-type seems to have something to do with how individual cases present.  Type-O is supposedly impenetrable armor, but if you are Type-AB shit is going to suck for you.  Type-B is slightly better than Type-A and there is some small effect if you are Rh+/-, can't remember which is better, but it might not statistically matter all that much.

I seem to recall that seasonal allergy sufferers have some sort of relative immunity as well.

The "data" seem to indicate that if you are at all reasonably healthy you should make it, although it could suck for a few days...

I am not a doctor, and the above should not be construed as medical advice.

The MAPA campaign thanks you for your service, CMDR AFL-I(CAN)!

Hopefully, we will not have to erect a Bronze Statue in your honor postmortem.  I think you'll be fine.

I am pate, and I approve this message.

Thank you Mr. President. I won 2 our of 3 games. While I recognize that it was not complete dominance on behalf of the peoples republic, I was thrilled to score a win.*

Benadryl, eh? I suppose I should probably search my cupboards. I have the others including tobacco covered and actually made sure to smoke for the last couple of evenings.

*I think I may stop over and play another game tomorrow. He is bored out of his wits (I apparently actually even seem like desirable company), and I will probably be bored out of mine.

Actually, I went high class and brought a pack of Dandy brewing pineapple milkshake sour.

Suddenly I'm reminded of the "Chicken pox party" that my mother brought me to as a youngster. I suppose that society has moved on and would call that child abuse in today's climate?

Don't worry; two more weeks and I will be out of your hair 😱

What happens in two more weeks? Does your fairy godmother find you a pumpkin and some mice?

Jagermeister? Not a bad way to go.

Jagermeister tastes like tranny (transmission) fluid.  I can think of better flavors to go out on.  :o ::) ;) ;D

Except you can catch covid multiple times, ya big dummy. On Reddit I read someone's account of catching covid classic before getting vaxxed and then variants (probably) two more times. She never had to be hospitalized, by the way. Also viral load seems to make a difference, like catching it from someone you interacted with for a minute versus playing Go Fish with a cousin all night.

Anyway, good luck. I'll be interested to read your plague journal entries. Hopefully you're impervious to it, I'd be sad if you got really sick.

I wouldn't know, I've never tried transmission fluid. I said Jagermeister because the pic he posted reminded me of it:

I really liked it in my twenties but haven't tried it in decades.
