Atlantis

This guy has found a really interesting possible location for Atlantis, apparently he has a few other vidyas on Atlantis.

This one is interesting, I never got a feel for how big that geologic triple ring feature actually is.

He does a lot of zooming in/out and panning back and forth on the Goggle Earth thing.  That always pisses me off when "they" do that on Bigfoot, UFO &tc pictures, I suppose I could hit the "pause" button and look at it all but I am lazy.

If you have ~45 minutes of your life to waste and are interested in Atlantis this one is interesting.

For myself, I suspect that there actually was a civilization that Atlantis was based upon it is just not obvious which one it was.  The Thera Theory is interesting, and the one about some island off the coast of Ireland somewhere, as are a few others that escape me at the moment.

I like this one for the visual appeal of that geologic feature.  I should fire up Goggle Earth for myself and find out how big that feature actually is, apparently it is visible from space?

The sunken pyramids off Cuba are something of interest with the additional geopolitical intrigue.
National Geographic had plans for an expedition but pulled out at the last hour without explanation.
The Bimini road is nearby with the Edgar Cayce connection and his entire channelled history of Atlantis.
Dark Journalist has offered a great deal of speculation on the so-called "Hot Zone" of the Caribbean.

I seem to recall reading a story about a mysterious island somewhere in the Gulf of Mexico, I believe it was near the Yucatan peninsula;  in any case the island apparently surfaces and submerges infrequently.  Fishermen or other boaters will encounter it, but it is far enough out at sea that they are never able to fix its location precisely.

When I read the story I immediately thought "Atlantis!"

I believe I read this story sometime in the mid 2000s, it may yet exist somewhere on the Intar-tubes if one cared to search for it.
