Watched a version of Deliverance with commentary from some of the makers of the film. They really had a tough time casting the part of the Ned Beatty ass raper guy. Dudes would read the script and bail. Finally they found the right guy - when asked about having to do he scene, the actor just shrugged hi shoulders and said "I've done worse".

If you want to break into films, make it memorable.

I saw some story about a letter all eight surviving Defense Department Heads had signed and sent to the sitting President, which reminded me that he has recently passed.

RIP, Don!

I met his brother once, a long time ago.  Was delivering a pizza to some dude last name "Asner" and for shits and gigs I asked him if he was Ed's brother.  He said yes, younger brother.  Had no idea that he was a Kansas City native son!

His brother sort of looks like him too.
