Yeah... The last hold outs. As of today, I can no longer legally visit my mother or any other unvaxxed person in their home* (frost warning tonight- so really, they are saying I should no longer see her at all.) I can no longer attend a wedding or funeral if more than a few people are there. I can no longer enter any business who wants to operate without restrictions (most of them). I can no longer eat indoors.

But I'm sure it is worth it. I now consider any social contract null and void and no longer recognize anything that the government wants to shove on me. I will continue to see anybody that I damn well please and after this bout where I am being careful will no longer have caution in society. I'm still allowed to work (at this point) and go home to sit alone for eternity legally. I think at this point they will still allow me to call my mother or sister. I think they may find the last holdouts all go from saying "I should be somewhat careful" to saying "fuck it."

*Actually, because I am unvaxxed, I cannot visit anybody in their home regardless of their vaccine status. And nobody can visit me. Pretty good trick they did there. But I'm pretty certain that I still have "freedom of association" as guaranteed in my Charter of rights and freedoms.

Are you talking about "any business" or just restaurants, bars & entertainment?  Down here there are rumors of a phone-based passport starting in October but it will be limited to those things.

I did not like the idea of the passport because it seemed unnecessarily punitive, King County's unvaxxed are mostly black folks so it's really Jim Crow and might take the shine off my virtue-signaling a bit but it was explained to me that it is not punishment for the unvaxxed at all, it is protecting them from dangerous venues where only those of us who are shielded from the risk to some degree can be trusted to go, since the unvaxxed are obviously incompetent to assess risk for themselves.  This patronizing condescension is right up my alley and I am all for passports now!

Besides when Trollda comes to town to break my nose I can just dart into one of those privileged venues and make faces out the window at him.

I went and played cards again this evening. I have now got my second dose of Covid. Should be sure that I get something.

Temperature holding at 95 degrees. My arm is not sore were I did not get the shot, and there is no rash. The confusion that I feel at this point is just that which your average person does when looking at the draconian measures that the government is introducing and hearing people cheer others losing their jobs.

I think that my right big toe feels a little under the weather. But so far, so good... In theory, symptoms should be starting Saturday, and I should be hospitalized by Sunday and dead for Monday. We will see if it progresses according to the grim warnings that I have heard of for two years.

I am rooting for him to pull through, as it will be difficult to find an appropriate Canadian citizen replacement (WOTR is actually not a fungible asset in the replacement category, btw) to lead the "American Foreign Legion I Corps (Canadian)."

Based on the rigorous candidate selection criteria for that position I am reasonably confident his chances of survival are quite high.

I think the CornHoleEbola-19.5 virus is the underdog in this fight.

From a pure Game Theory standpoint, it is not a bad strategy to put your money on the the "Upset Outcome."



Say that it is 10:1 he survives and conversely 1:10 he dies:  you can spend a single dollar (US or Canadian depending on the Currency Market) and either gain $0.10 or  $10.00.  Assuming that no matter what you will lose the $1.00, why not "go big or go home" and back the 1000% position over the 10% one?

I leave the ethics and morality of betting on a man's life aside, but were I forced to put my money where my mouth is I am going to bet on the man Surviving:  they/themthe hobo elite will surely find the steak dinner their ill-gotten gains all the more delicious knowing that my $1.00 helped purchase the thing.  Maybe they/themthe hobo elite will choke on it and no-one will bother to attempt the Heimlich Maneuver and instead allow Nature to take its course.

I am willing to put my potential $0.10 winnings down on a contingent "side bet" over the hobo elite choking to death on an ill gotten steak repast post settlement of the initial Stake position.

My odds on this "side bet" are 110:1 they/themthe hobo elite survive the dinner without asphyxiating and 1:110 they/themthe hobo elite choke and die on it.

I will take the 1:110 position and cover it with $0.10, but in order for it to work out someone has to put up $11.00 on the 110:1 spread.  If my maths are korrect, an $11.00 cover with a "win" on those "side bet" odds would net the Gambler an entire $0.11!  Or a whopping total of $9.11 if every thing works out on that line.

I could also calculate the initial dollar amount required for a 2-bet net payout of $19.50 if anyone else is interested?

This entire post is distasteful to me, but hey Game Theory isn't always pretty.

Just think...sitting by the pool, sipping on a cold drink, riding horses and basking in our rock solid, life time Covid immunity.  Meanwhile, the poor Vaxxed schlubs back home will be scheduling booster shot number six, wage slaving away in a mask and trying to scrape up enough cash for a pig heart valve replacement because the jab blew out their mitral valve.
