So then, who cares? Let the virus do it's thing. I have chosen not to get the shot, and I'm not asking any politicians to protect me, I'm not asking others to wear a mask to protect me, I'm not demanding that society stay shut down to protect. me.
To keep things in perspective, I have a Sherman unicycle (I believe that fastest stock uni made) arriving this week. Is it more of a risk for me to mix with traffic doing 70 KMph, or to breath covid infested air? Exactly. I'll take my chances and know my risks (for both activities.) Don't get me wrong- the longer these jackasses keep things shut down, the more deserted the streets, and the better for my riding.
*The RS will move to offroad use, the Sherman will be for mostly road use and general travel. The star of the video below? The Sherman...
That is 🔥🔥🔥! Yes I totally get the risk, it is so small to normal people that it can be safely used as a political football in a way it wouldn't be if it were something truly dangerous. However your assessment of risk is entirely individual; here there are serious discussions about the "moral duty to not be part of a transmission chain" which play really well to us do-gooders but sink like a rock in the countryside.
Who cares? That's exactly the point; Duchin obviously
doesn't care (strange for a health director), is not
coming for you, and is instead happily flogging it for a political score -- anyone here who hears "Enumclaw" knows exactly who he is talking about. Duchin is such an ass, probably praying for the plague to strike.
Both sides have made their choices, can leave each other alone, and eagerly watch for disastrous side effects of the vaxx or the winter coof to thin the numbers of the other. Just horrid

I say that because, looking at the zip-code map history put out by his office you can see exactly why he started talking that way, it's because for the first time the Enumclaw-area cases pulled ahead of what has been for months the real hotspot of South Seattle (black and brown people) where it is more appropriate to talk about barriers to access.
But the differences aren't even as stark has he would make out: more than 70% of the 50+ in Enumclaw are vaxxed. Like my aunt who quietly got the shot even though my uncle churns out antivaxx shizzle on facebook every day hahaha. It is just a lot of noise.
