From my new favorite organist, a lovely Italianate concerto transcription by Bach's cousin, contemporary with Bach's efforts in that genre. 



Proof that some of the best Italian music was written by non-Italians.  Bach's transcription of the famous concerto by Prince Johann Ernst is an absolute knockout, I will try to find a good version.

I did not forget, honey 💋 I watched it yesterday.  It is funny to see him in music-educator mode; the nice-guy look doesn’t sit at all comfortably on his features.  Now that everyone is supposed to be winning audiences for classical and doesn’t  dare breathe a word of criticism he is (or was) the closest thing we have to a Hanslick, I am sorry to see him tone it down for the camera.  Maybe the world needs a new, real critic in the old style; the battleaxe I keep in the corner is getting rusty.
