We are explicitly commanded by Christ Himself to be doormats when persecuted for the Faith.  It cannot be any clearer.  The early Church was built on the bodies of martyrs, not soldiers.

Sure, in the hopes of shaming people into being civilized. However, when the MSM portrays the persecuted Christian as a bunch of Hitlers that will never happen.
