Bloody hell. When will Darwin assert himself?
To continue on with the story. I offered one of the employees who would be on a seasonal lay-off the job (I was going to replace this employee with one who did not know the process, but is reliable.) Regrettably, that employee cannot do the job due to severe asthma.
Now, you may think this was mean. But keep in mind it was Monday night / Tuesday morning that my other employee was out sick. I texted him to remind him that he needed to be symptom free for 72 hours, or have a negative test (and be symptom free.)
Friday I get a text (the next day he is scheduled to work.) "WOTR, I'm still sick, I suppose I cannot come in, and I will book a test." So you came to work sick Tuesday, spread it around, went home and decided 4 days later that being as you were still sick, you might want to get tested? Not a thought between those times? And on Thursday night after I tell you MULTIPLE times that you need to be symptom free for 72 hours, you don't think "gee, I can't show up to my Friday, Saturday OR Sunday shift even if I feel good unless I get a negative test." Instead you wait for Friday afternoon (I assume if he were not still showing symptoms he would just have lied and shown up.)
Give me strength! If anybody wonders why I have had outbreaks, it is because of the choices that some people make. I'm trying not to to curse or call the guy names. But damn... Proof that Darwin was mistaken. Also proof that lightening does not strike down the mentally infirm.
My other possibility is having the labourer run the machines on nights. But then I'm short a labourer. Something has to work out. I can't stand stupid (and willingly stupid at that.)
