When I post a YouTube vid here it embeds automatically and yet when I try to post a vid from an alternative site it just posts the link to the page where the vid resides. Why is this?! Is there a way to enable embedding for these alternative sites like bitchute and rumble?

The Simple Audio Video Embedder I'm using offers the embed feature for many sites, however BitChute and Rumble aren't available as choices in the checkbox section.

I need to update the embedder, as I just realised its long overdue. Doing that could possibly mean those 2 sites will be options, but I can't say for sure.

That relatively neu SMF update that has caused our lost homeland to go dark (allegedly), did it possibly include something to address the lack of BitChute and/or Rumble embedders?

If the answer to that is a big "No," have you tried turning to the loathesome AI for assistance?  Might help you "git 'er dun" if you have any coding ability (& godlike patience) at all.

I'm reluctantly using Grok to parse my CSIS homework coding assignments, which it is pretty good at, but find it vomiting forth unasked for code a bit of a burden, mostly.  Sometimes, out of curiosity, I test this suspicious AI code and it generally works okay.  But more often than not, it needs some 'tweaking' (either does NOT do what I intend with the fragment of code I had it check for syntax errors &tc, -OR- it does what I intend to accomplish but it a very dense & clunky manner that could be more easily done with fewer lines of code.)

On very rare occasions, Grok will show me something 'neu' that I will explore whilst ignoring the project I was working on in the first place, vary dangerous if facing a deadline.

Anyhow, I am certain Doc would appreciate it if you achieved his vidya embedment request!  If you like, I could attempt to act as an interlocutor for you with Grok (I have experience and somewhat limited success with the infernal thing);  hit me up in the PM(S) on that if so!

The ONLY vidya link formats SMF will recognize as vidyas for embedding MUST be in the form:

The reason I’m not here much is because this place is dead and there are only idiots like pate left here so there’s really not much to respond to and now that YouTube vids won’t embed it’s even worse. Oh well. Bellgab was cool while it lasted. All the lefties went to Ellgab, where they keep it boring and some of the right (like pate) wound up here where they can attack others on the right for not being Bush supporters back in the day.
