Trudeau Says Army Response to Trucker Protest ‘Not in the Cards’
(Bloomberg) -- Prime Minister Justin Trudeau downplayed the idea of deploying Canada’s military to help clear out a trucker protest
(I would have linked to the original Bloomberg article, but it has a shit-ton of annoying "auto-play" vidyas that are impossible to find on the site to turn them off, which upsets my
Military Acquired Tourrette's Syndrome, Military Acquired Obsessive/Compulsive Disorder and Military Induced Autism {
MATS, MAOC & MIA respectively}) The original article can be found hear:
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-02-03/trudeau-says-army-response-to-trucker-protest-not-in-the-cardsI am unfamiliar with how, exactly, the Canadian Armed forces operate; for the US military to conduct such an operation on American soil against citizens it would require either a declaration of
National Disaster (with subsequent declaration of
Martial Law to deal with it) or a straight-out declaration of
Martial Law (due to a formal declaration of
Rebellion or something).
That being said, a semi-unwritten rule for people in command positions is:
under no circumstances (if avoidable) is an Order to be issued that will not be obeyed. Were a commander to be placed in the unfortunate position of having to issue such an order it is important that said
Commander insure that the un-obeyed order is not, in fact, an
Illegal Order.
Were I to receive an order from
Command instructing me to break up what appears to be a demonstration, protest
, or otherwise
Constitutionally protected political activity I would respectfully refuse it.
At minimum
Nancy Trudeau makes himself appear even weaker by addressing this "non-issue(d order)," at worst he appears even more
Dictatorial by publicly discussing it as an option.
That is all, Carrie Anne.
