The city of Nye is going to take a sizable financial hit in the very near future. I’ve been a lifetime member of Frontsight Firearms Training institute for about 15 years. The guy in charge has been running what seems like a Ponzi scheme and it looks like it finally caught up with him. My guess he will have to declare bankruptcy and I don’t think the place will survive more than a few months. I would estimate there are 250,000 members and probably 100,000 people a year show up for training. Several people bought places in pahrump to stay at and use for Airbnb when they weren’t there. Hundreds of instructors moved there. The hotels there had a high percentage of students staying there in addition to stores that popped up to sell ammo and gun stuff. He basically pulled the rug out from underneath the lifetime members which had been promised free training for life. It was excellent training. I’ve attended several times for handgun, rifle and ropes and rappelling.Members are coordinating to file complaints with the NV DA and start a class action suit, which will just speed up the demise.Heather should sell her place now before the market tanks.
