Oh, yeah, I was just wondering, that's why I stopped by. Cheers mate; thanks for good looking out.

Thank goodness I could put your mind at ease. Hopefully it allowed you a good night sleep not having to stay away wondering about WOTR...

*Oops. My bad. As revealed in the emails, it was citigroup who got to pick for Bush as well. "I don't know if there are specific rules about going into independent agencies, but as I recall in 92 at the end of the day

I kind of miss MD- or anybody to point out that I was mistaken. Halliburton probably did pick for Bush... I'm too jaded to think that there was no influence for him. But 92 was an election year. This email from citigroup would suggest that they were picking the government for Bill Clinton (huge shock- who would have believed that there would be a pay to play scheme under a Clinton.)

It was only because that was the leaked email. Im' sure that Halliburton got to pick the Bush cabinet.*

As for "a certain level of influence," I would agree. But the idea that "certain level" included outright handpicking your government and regulators is pretty astounding. Did I mention that citibank was the largest recipient of government bailouts during the mortgage crisis?

*Oops. My bad. As revealed in the emails, it was citigroup who got to pick for Bush as well. "I don't know if there are specific rules about going into independent agencies, but as I recall in 92 at the end of the day we decided the risks of appearing to involve the transition personnel in ongoing law enforcement or rulemaking (SEC, CFTC, FEC< and the FTC)  were just too high and we did not go in." They still picked the executive branch- but they didn't want to hand pick their law enforcement. But, presumably, through the revolving door between goldman and those agencies, they already had it covered.

Yup. Nothing to see here. Just a corporation openly choosing your rulers for decades under both Republicans and Democrats. But you always have a choice in who to vote for.

Our rulers serve at our pleasure, otherwise they get booted out on their ass like the last guy.  I am fundamentally a little-r republican, I think rulers should be changed like diapers otherwise they lose freshness and start consolidating their power.  FWIW I cheered when Trump got in and cheered when he got unceremoniously dumped.  I hope CA boots their governor over this covid mess -- I even don't care whether he is a good one or a bad one -- but that is a long shot, we need vigorous, intelligent political contention in this country and single-party rule is what allows for the corruption you point out.

But you can't look at the complex patchwork of covid restrictions in this country -- some mandates, some suggestions, some enforced by local sheriffs, some not, varying county by county, sometimes from store to store in the same chain -- and not realize that no matter what the pres or the governor or Fauci says, the practical work of managing things is local, catering intensely to local views and tolerances, just like it should be.

Canada has a stronger national government and maybe it isn't as apparent to you if you are just watching our national news and making the analogy but here, nobody is in charge.  Which is good.

That didn't last long, three weeks or so  ::)

Quote
King County Health Officer Dr. Jeff Duchin recommends that everyone — vaccinated or not — wear a mask in indoor, public spaces.

“Today, COVID-19 rates are increasing in King County largely due to the spread of the more contagious Delta and other variants of concern, and our changing behaviors with increasing activities while dropping COVID-19 precautions as the state’s Healthy Washington Roadmap to Recovery restrictions were lifted,” he said.

“Higher levels of Delta virus transmission increase the risk for all of us, but we know that wearing a high-quality, well-fitting face mask or respirator is a simple and effective way to reduce risk for individuals and for our community,” he added.

Duchin cited a recent report from the University of Washington’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, which found that if universal masking were to be implemented in Washington next week, it would prevent between 540 to 880 deaths in the state by Nov. 1.

“The vast majority of my own infectious disease and public health colleagues are personally wearing masks in indoor, public spaces, and they recommend that for their friends and family,” he said.

For those reasons, Duchin recommends that all people — regardless of vaccination status — “once again, voluntarily” wear masks in indoor, public settings.

Though even with his own numbers they are getting within annual car-wreck territory (550 fatalities or so a year in this state), these are the terms things need to be sold in.

Former FDA Commissioner Endorses Billy Meier’s Call for N95 Masks

Well over a year ago, Swiss man emphasized importance of proper masks to protect against COVID disease

Some people were initially shocked when the harsh COVID warnings from Billy Meier and the Plejaren advised against using masks as protection from the disease. But they were quite specific about not using and relying on surgical and various other kinds of inferior masks, which don’t prevent the spread of virus-laden aerosols, nor offer protection from them.

I did not notice any dietary supplement ads on this site, so it must be legit.

I am convinced.

COVID deaths in no-lockdown Sweden hit ZERO

...And data show the seven-day rolling average for COVID deaths on Wednesday was zero, which is where it has been for about a week.

Sweden’s overall mortality rate in 2020 was lower than most of Europe, FEE added, and its economy suffered far less.

"Meanwhile, today Sweden is freer and healthier than virtually any other country in Europe."

There were dietary supplement ads all over the place at this site.  Thankfully that means we can safely ignore this article!

Damn Swedish dis-information.

We all know that waiting in the wings, soon to be released, is the Sigma {σ, Σ} variant;  of course we have to go through the Delta {𝛿, Δ} & Lambda {λ, Λ} variants before we get to that one.

Sigma, as everyone knows, is either used to represent deviations when σ is used or sums when Σ is used.  That being said, I invite everyone to watch the two following vidyas:

Pay particular attention to the Doctors, Dr. Fauci and Dr. Girlfriend respectively, and their voices.  I am categorically NOT saying that Dr. Fauci is some sort of cross-dressing deviant, nor am I attempting to cis-gender Dr. Girlfriend, but something just doesn't add up...

Am I weird for noticing this or are you all weird for not noticing that?  Sum Ting Wong?

Nautical Shore.

Don't forget, plans proposing mandatory vaccines against SARS-CoV-2 were in place well before any vaccines went to market.

So far, everything is going according to plan.

https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMp2020926

Why not?  You guys can hardly squawk any louder but you shot your wad already when Fauci said you maybe shouldn't see grandma this Christmas.

Why not mandatory vaccines?  Because we either have a real choice or we don't.
Fauci's asides are little regarded around the world in the face of oncoming tyranny.
