Remember this guy:

He used to be a “cop killing” gangster rapper...
Now he plays a cop on TV and sells car insurance and Tide laundry detergent there too.
And? So? If you knew
anything about Ice T, you'd know that he was always straight edge and rapped - for the most part - about doing positive things for his community. He was something of a role model. Never rapped about selling or doing drugs.
You got me on the "cop killer" one, or so you
think. Buddy, Hip Hop is entertainment. Do you have the same level of vitriol for WWE? What about the bad examples they set for their adoring fans?
Being a rapper is a lot like being an actor. Rap is entertainment. Do you not understand that? Perhaps, at some point some hoodlums co-opted it and started "rapping about real shit."
99% of rappers don't even know how to use a fucking gun. They pose with props. And do you
really think all these so-called hardened criminals would actually be documenting their crimes? That's gotta be the most stupid assumption I've ever heard. I'll give you this though, a lot of people do take this rappers seriously. Its all words and macho posturing.
