Fifty-three percent of respondents who voted for Trump last year said they were fully vaccinated, compared with 52 percent of Biden voters who said the same.

So the "just lie about it" strategy seems to be taking hold  8)

You all can take comfort, though, in the sure knowledge that, while most people are idiots, Republicans are rather less so.

Among Democratic voters, 22 percent said they plan to go outside unmasked following the CDC’s announcement, with 28 percent of Republicans saying the same. Sixty-six percent of Democratic voters said they will continue to wear their masks outside, as will 40 percent of Republican voters.

Well that is ridiculous, what good is a vaccine then, if it doesn't make the fear of risk go away?  These are some of the most effective vaccinations ever developed, if you look at the numbers.  I should be able to stride into my uncle's barbecue full of rabid science-denying Trumpy coofers with impunity, whereas last summer I could not, and, since most of them were exposed to it last year, it shouldn't be a concern for anyone.

For these people, the vaccine works if both parties are vaccinated and the risks are further reduced. The CDC lists 353 deaths for fully vaccinated people in cases of "vaccine breakthrough." Common sense says that is minor. But the people who were hiding in their basements for the last year still find that to be too much risk. And seeing me is an unacceptable risk. I don't particularly care. Everybody should be entitled to be as stupid as they want.

This is no different than people who won't get vaccinated because "two people in Canada have died of blood clots after getting vaccinated." Both groups need to learn basic math and risks. Both are entitled to their stupid opinions. I won't demand that the "visit with the vaccinated only" crowd talk with me. I won't demand that the "risks of blood clots are too high" get vaccinated.

The 'flu virus isn't an issue at the moment because everyone is wearing masks. It isn't hard. I don't know why you consider yourself a sceptic, if you see evidence that contradicts your beliefs you will ignore it. That isn't scepticism.

Darling, that was the whole point. We have an example, in the 'flu, of how masks etc are effective, but your malfunctioning monkey mind can't process anything that goes against your pre-conceived beliefs. I recommend suicide in your case, you're clearly beyond the reach of medical help.

Oh. I see. So the seasonal flu was unable to spread among us who do not wear masks while visiting friends and family because of mask mandates (which were ignored), but Covid continues to spread because of those of us not wearing masks when visiting friends and family.

It's too bad that the two viruses act so differently among the population who is putting everybody at risk by their reckless actions. But it is fortunate that the flu at least respects the public health orders that it not spread even in private gatherings where masks are not employed like Covid does. My public health officials inform me that private gatherings among friends and families are where the majority of Covid cases are contracted because of the lack of precautions taken (which I believe.) But at least I only risk Covid and not the flu this year in such situations.

Makes perfect sense now. Thanks.

'The HighWire' host Del Bigtree and son, Ever, conducted a test, using an OSHA-approved Carbon-Dioxide meter, which revealed something about masks which YouTube, Facebook, and other video platforms are trying very hard to censor. What do you think?

I think the arguments that masks keep oxygen molecules out but don't work against the virus, which is of course many times larger than an oxygen molecule, are my favorite ones of all  ;D

Canadian troops lining up in droves to be vaccinated

Quote
OTTAWA — The Department of National Defence says Canadian military personnel are coming forward in droves to be vaccinated, with more than 85 per cent of all troops receiving at least one dose.

That stands in contrast to an apparent rash of vaccine hesitancy in the United States military, where some reports have suggested as many as one-third of American troops have declined to get a shot.

That's not his argument, and you know it. He's emphasizing the simple fact that when wearing a mask, you breathe in an unnatural and unhealthy amount of co2.  ::)

Why are COVID-19 vaccine rates lower in some parts of rural Alberta?

Quote
All the areas with less than 30 per cent were smaller or rural communities, with the exception of the city of Grande Prairie. Those pockets were spread across different regions, but the lowest by far was 9.9 per cent in northwest Alberta, including the community of La Crete, which has made headlines for resistance to public-health measures.

For communities like that, vaccine hesitancy has an ideological component, said University of Lethbridge political science professor Lars Hallstrom. But there are also historical and cultural elements, as well as perspectives shaped by the remoteness of some of these places.

He's sticking the sensor right under his kid's honker on the exhale, he'd probably get the same reading without a mask.

Alberta is rationing second doses  :o

Quote
Results show the first dose is up to 80% effective in preventing severe illness. The second dose increases protection, and ensures you’re protected for as long as possible. The timing for getting your second dose depends on your health status.

We are reviewing emerging evidence on the effectiveness of mixing vaccine types for first and second doses before making a decision. More information on second dose options is expected to be available in June.

Most Albertans
Eligible for your second dose of:

Pfizer or Moderna no later than 4 months after the first dose
AstraZeneca no later than 4 months and no earlier than 12 weeks after the first dose
When to book:

Bookings for second doses will begin when supply allows, after all Albertans 12 and over have been offered a first dose, likely in late June.

https://www.alberta.ca/covid19-vaccine.aspx

It seems a shame, when we can hardly give them away here and must rely on free beer and weed.

I partially agree. However, it's still unhealthy and stupid. You're going to contract the virus from rubbing your eyes, not by not wearing a stupid ass mask. :D The Flu didn't diminish; they've been counting them as Covid-19 deaths.

Hey, cheap shot! If you can stick it in your ass, I can put it in my eye. I'm pretty sure that particular scripture resides somewhere in Romans. :-*
