A couple of items from the local commie rag, The Stranger:

I don't watch the news but my mom says this latest "fourth wave" is being blamed on "underserved communities in the Central District" (black folks) whose vaccination rates are much lower than the general population.  I am not so sure; the eastern half of the county is also unlikely to be vaxxed for political reasons --  that is Trump country.  Mom wonders, with all the fresh virtue of the fully vaxxed, why any of this is her problem.

Meanwhile all the privileged urban commies, whose vaxx rates must be close to 90% in order to offset the rest of the county, are welcomed into the orgiastic bliss of the blessed.

No one wants to kiss me yet; I have to wait four more weeks  :-[

In Right Wing Watch, my folks' Trumpy neighbor with the Don't-Tread-On-Me has taken in the American flag (last week it was upside-down) and now only flies the snake.

Yeah my mom told me some stores offering it through their pharmacies are giving gift cards, and at the baseball game you get a free hot dog.  I am sure the vax operations are grant-funded, dollars per dose like usual, and you will see bigger kickbacks as time goes on and efficiencies are exploited.

I’m all for it.  If it is in the public interest you can’t just nag people about civic duty, you have to compensate them.  It’s funny, Mom said, “that’s what Trump would do.” 😉

I still say the only way they will get the kind of coverage they are looking for is to make it so the vaxxed can ditch their masks.  The people most resistant are the ones most chafed by the maskage while to the docile and compliant it’s not a big deal.   Bring on the 🔥!

Blood Expert Says He Found Why Some Covid-19 Vaccines Trigger Rare Clots

Quote
Another theory suggested by Prof. van Gorp is that the brief but strong flulike symptoms many recipients report after taking the shot are also causing inflammation that could trigger or exacerbate autoimmune reactions leading to blood clotting.

One reason vaccine-induced clotting might not have been reported in the past is because shots using viral vector technology haven't been administered at scale.

...

The only similar shot widely administered before the pandemic is the one against Ebola by Johnson & Johnson, which was given to at least 60,000 people as of last July.

Clotting occurs between one in 28,000 and one in 100,000...

“Understanding the cause is of highest importance for the next-generation vaccines, because [the novel] coronavirus will stay with us and vaccination will likely become seasonal,” said Eric van Gorp, a professor at Erasmus University in the Netherlands who heads a group of scientists studying the condition.

"Covid-19 is much, much, much more dangerous than this extremely rare condition", Prof. Greinacher said.

Well, that depends.  On a societal level that may be true where those odds may look reasonable but people care much more about whether it is dangerous to them, personally, and don't generally like being told that the risk they are taking is acceptable for the good of society.  1 in 28,000 puts the chances of clotting at something like 0.0035% which is within some of the attempts to mathematically derive a reasonable age-based Infection Fatality Rate I've seen lately for covid for people who aren't all that old.

Blood "expert" is full of horseshit. The bloodclots form in some due to a lack of lubrication for the vaccine as it is surging through your circulatory system. Fortunately, McNasty's has that issue on the run now. You choke down a supersizer as you are taking the jab.  The nanobots can then flow freely through your aorta on the hyrdogenated oils.

I liked "make teachers go door to door" part best.  Good luck with that.  It is all academic anyways. There will be no re-opening in the fall. Feigl-Ding has spoken!

BAH that is all transmissability; in four weeks I will be six feet tall and bulletproof with the rest of my city!  Even Ding Dong says, "Nobody is safe until we are all vaccinate!"

Until next fall when we have to get our seasonal shots again  :-\

*yeah nobody's getting those cows off their puters and back into proper pants without a fight; they never really liked your snot-nosed brats anyway.

CDC: Fully vaccinated people can largely ditch masks indoors

The announcement comes as the CDC and the Biden administration have faced pressure to ease restrictions on fully vaccinated people — people who are two weeks past their last required COVID-19 vaccine dose — in part to highlight the benefits of getting the shot.

Of course! I think if the government wants to cull the herd they would want to get rid of those pesky, big-brained, conspiracists, not us sheeple. So I say gallop, don't trot to your nearest vax clinic before they release the real killer virus.
